Congratulations on living debt free! It's not easy sometime, but as someone who lived in debt for a while paying down hospital bills, and paying my old friend back, working overtime was WORTH IT to be out of debt! It taught me a valuable lesson: Lead me not into temptation. I can find it myself! Which means that i don't go to Any grocery store hungry wo a list! Don't go to garage sales or "rumage" sales if you're an impulse biyer, like me!

I needed this today. Thank you. I have followed you for a few years now and have always been encouraged by your content. You mentioned fake people. I completely agree, and strongly believe this is a huge player in the decline of our society. We cannot be someone else and should be thankful that we are unique, even with our faults. I will listen to this multiple times and will recommend to friends and family. God bless you and your family.

Great watch and agree with the majority. Minimalism certainty gave a great uplift to my life. Though the money your saving in the process, dont just not spend it, spend that on activities and life experiences, massively important to a fulfilled life, its there to be spent still, but definitely not on the unneeded latest gadget.

I decluttered a raggy T-shirt i got off my now husband. 14 years on, he STILL talks about it. This puts me off getting rid of his grandmother's china because i know he'll talk about it forever, but we never use any of it, and she didn't use it either, so it's generational clutter! I can't get rid of it. So i got rid of a lot of my mum's china instead. (She's dead. I inherited it.) I don't regret it even one little bit, it feels like freedom!

Enjoying your thoughtful approach. I’m not quite where I want to be but I know a “project” must come close to number one of one’s priorities to ever get it done. Right now I have 3 main projects and right-sizing is number 3😆. But I always loved the story of a man who became so overwhelmed by his whole life that he just shut his apartment door, left and never returned. Pretty drastic but wonderful to fantasize (for me anyway )

I have so much clutter because I am poor. I can't afford to replace things so I tend to hold onto a lot "just in case". Or "I can't donate/trash that, it's valuable", but then be so overwhelmed by the chaos I just can't get things together enough to list them for sale.

I try to be a minimalist, my husband is the opposite. He refused to follow my way. What I learned is, that we mirror each other. I still had corners with secret clutter, and as I began to tidy them up, my husband began to go through his stuff. What a wonderful experience.

after getting my first job I started buying a lot of stuff (mostly fan merchandise) that I never got to buy as a teenager - after a year of this I've realised that these are just temporary obsessions I have, and once the feeling of enthusiasm and novelty fades, I lose interest in the merchandise. This has really helped me be clear about what to spend on and I'm quite happy that I've slowed down a lot on spending for fun after having 'tried' all of these purchases. Love what you said about decluttering being a journey.

I got my own "car" story XD I noticed my bathrooms faucet was leaky. I happen to have a handyman over to my apartment because my radiator had started leaking after my neighbors had done something to theirs. It got fixed with no cost to me and I took the chance and asked if he might look at the leaky faucet. He did and he said it needed to be change, but he was not able to do so right now and that I need to contact my landlord/apartment company. Or at least that is probably what he meant to say, but he happen to say it in such a bad way, that I heard it as "you will need a full bathroom renovation". Which is not something I can afford. I was to scared to contact my apartment company, because I did no want to have a rent increased. My family and friends tried to tell me that it would be fine and that the problem was not hard to fix. But I did not believe them. It got to the point where I was using my kitchen faucet for everything, because if I did not used the bathroom faucet then it would stop leaking after about a weeks time. I don't remember when I finally decided to contact the apartment company, but I finally did and they came and replaced the faucet and pipe, for no cost to me. I felt so happy and so stupid for not having done something sooner. But know I know.
